The Tongueometer application features a tongue strengthening exercise designed to increase a user’s tongue strength. Using the principles of exercise science, the user will determine the target pressure range for completing exercises based on his or her maximum tongue strength. The range is typically set at 60-80% of the user’s maximum pressure, however it is recommended to consult with your healthcare professional to determine the best settings for you.
The Tongueometer app will display a meter with the highlighted target range, count the number of successful repetitions, display the pressure reading in real-time, provide biofeedback throughout the exercise, and store data for each practice session.
Isometric Endurance Exercise
The Tongueometer features an isometric endurance exercise designed to increase a user’s tongue endurance. The user will determine the targeted length of time to hold the air-filled bulb against the roof of the mouth with the tongue within a set pressure range, under the guidance of the user’s healthcare professional.
The Tongueometer app will display a meter with the highlighted target range and an easily-modified timer, count the number of successful repetitions, provide biofeedback, and record data for each practice session.
