Check these things:
How far is your toilet from other things, like side walls, a tub, or vanity? The WL1 lifts need 24" of width, so your toilet needs to have 12" of clearance from the center-line of the toilet to any obstruction. (see picture below).
Does the bathroom door need to swing there? The swing of the door might interfere with your toilet lift. Measure 6 inches in front of your toilet's bowl and then be sure there is 24" of width available there.
Here is information about what toilets work with our toilet lifts.
Height: The height of the rim of the toilet needs to be between 14" to 18" with our
WL1 lifts.
Width of the toilet at the bowl: The width of the toilet is not usually a problem. Any toilet bowl that is less than 16 1/2" wide will fit inside the sides of our toilet lifts.
Toilets that have tanks with "front flair" may not fit: The shape of most toilets works great with all of our toilet lifts. Our lifts fit hundreds and hundreds of different toilet designs. It is rare to find a toilet that our lifts don't work with, but they do exist. Some modernist toilets have a tank that flairs forward. If that flair goes too far forward, the toilet won't fit any toilet lift. Here is a graphic to show you how to tell if our lift will work with your toilet.
Here are some example toilets:
- A standard style (two piece) toilet.
- The WL1 is less than 24" wide, so they need some space on the side of your toilet lift (the WL1 has a width of 23 7/8")
- Narrow toilets work well for a toilet lift.
- Will work with vertical tank design
- Will work with 18" rim height (which is tall) but will still work
- a wall-mounted toilet with an egg shape. We checked the manufacturer measurements on this toilet to make sure it would still fit inside the toilet lift and it will.
- Our toilet lifts will fit a composting toilet too.
- Works with once piece toilet. Flat front tanks and do not curve forward at the outside ends.
